The Association for Finnish Work has awarded the Finnish Social Enterprise mark and the Key Flag symbol to Finnish Mutual Patient Insurance Company

Finnish Mutual Patient Insurance Company has been awarded the right to use the Finnish Social Enterprise mark in recognition of successfully combining of commercial and social goals and the Key Flag symbol in recognition of a service that is produced in Finland and that promotes employment in Finland.

Finnish Mutual Patient Insurance Company is a mutual insurance company owned by the university wellbeing services counties and HUS Group, whose task is to cover the patient injury risk of its customers and owners. The company grants patient insurance to the five founding partners, which are HUS Group and the wellbeing services counties of Southwest Finland, North Ostrobothnia, Pirkanmaa and North Savo. Other insured parties are wellbeing services counties in the collaborative areas of the university wellbeing services counties and other public health care units operating in their areas.

The Key Flag symbol awarded by The Association for Finnish Work, is a mark of origin well known to Finns, which tells about Finnish origin and the promotion of employment in the home country. The Finnish Social Enterprise mark can be held by companies that have been set up to solve social and environmental problems and dedicate most of their profits to this purpose. Demonstrating transparency and the openness of activities is also crucial.

–We applied for the Finnish Social Enterprise mark to demonstrate the company’s social importance as a provider of patient insurance for public medical care. The captive nature of the company and the simplicity of its organisation enable cost-effective operations, which in turn enable insurance premiums to remain low, which also saves tax assets. Our long-term goal is to offer our customers patient insurance in a more affordable and flexible way than alternative insurers, states Chief Executive Officer Antti Kolkka from Finnish Mutual Patient Insurance Company.

–Finnish Mutual Patient Insurance Company strives to be the best partner for insuring public medical care by facilitating e.g. customers risk management and streamlining their administration. Corporate responsibility is the basis of the operations, and it means compliance with obligations derived from regulatory requirements as well as unwritten and other ethical values, states Marketing Manager Niina Ollikka from The Association for Finnish Work.
